Despite the current economic difficulties, getting a job in the aviation industry remains very popular – and passenger numbers are not as low as might have been thought. Getting airline training is a route into this exciting, high flying industry.
Airline training is offered by various companies and airlines, providing a good grounding in the safety procedures and customer service requirements desired by the many airlines operating out of the UK and the globe.
Britain’s aviation crown jewel is Heathrow Airport – which has the highest level of international passenger traffic in the world. It is ranked third in terms of overall traffic, and is, naturally, the busiest airport in the UK. With this behemoth of air travel on our shores, the UK aviation industry employs a large number of people. And with over 67 million people passing through its gates each year, you know that getting airline training is a good career choice.
Apart from the relative job security, getting airline training can lead to a fantastic work lifestyle. As you would expect, a job aboard an Airbus or a Boeing ensures you get to see some wonderful cities, either across Europe, or the globe. This airline life is not necessarily for everyone, but does hold great opportunities for the outgoing type of person. Even if someone is not naturally bubbly, as required by many airlines, the airline training process could bring out a new bubbliness, which would be sustained by the constant public interaction that would occur once a job with an airline is found.
Many of us have heard the tales of the various shenanigans that are meant to occur both in hotels at either end of the air route – and even at 30000 feet! There is of course an element of truth in the fun filled aspect of airline lifestyle, but the constant movement and meeting new people is bound to lead to a party lifestyle for many of those lucky enough to enter the airline industry.
Dealing with passengers is obviously a large part of working for an international airline – and airline training gives people a thorough understanding of this customer service aspect. Learning to deal with the criticisms as well as the compliments is all part of your airline training. Nothing can substitute real experience with real passengers – but this is something that someone suited to work in the airline industry will pick up very quickly.
Airline training gives people a good grounding in the more serious side of airline travel too. It’s not all cocktails in airport hotels and sightseeing on days off. The airports of the UK, Europe and indeed the globe are always going to be a target for terrorists of all persuasions – but a thorough grounding in the many security procedures used at air terminals means that anyone who enters the aviation industry will be able to play a full part in the security of their – and other people’s countries.
For those considering a career in the aviation industry, airline training offers the ideal basis for a long and exciting career in one of the UK’s airlines.
